The overall design of the website was out of my hands on this one. I was given a rough mock-up and colour scheme and was there to implement programming and provide the graphics to turn paper in to reality.
The features involved in this website implementation are quite complex in their requirements. The driving school listings needed to be randomised for each geographical area so as not to show bias towards any individual school.
The website advertising management system had to use a pay per click facility where the advertiser can purchase a set number of impressions and the system would track how many click troughs were received and hide the ad when that limit was reached.
By far the most complex element of the website development was the used car sales that needed to cater to both trade advertiser and private advertiser . Trade advertiser had account created for them by the owner and allowed the trader to list multiple cars with out paying any additional amounts. For private sales the seller can list up to 3 cars per account for free before a advertising fee would then be automated to come in to play. Naturally with both trade and private sales user could create their own advertisements within there account.
