Branding, Packaging & Marketing

Bradshaws farm in Buckingahmshire wanted to expand in to the luxury Ice Cream sector utilising there existing dairy Herd.

Initial contact was made requesting a logo and pot design that Cre8iv Design developed. A request to develop a website shortly followed.

Brand requirements

In our initial design meeting the clients described to me the look and feel that they wanted to achieve. some of the words used where ‘classical’ ‘authentic’ ‘established’ & ‘local’. They also wanted to use a painting that they had commissioned by a local artist as a fundamental element of the designed graphics.

Designing the brand and packaging

Unfortunately the commissioned artwork did not work within the confines of a logo design. Knowing how the client was very keen on using the local country landscape as a motif I deigned an illustration to sit in the centre of the logo and and finished the outer design in a 1920′s Art Deco boarder with matching typefaces.  The commissioned artist’s work was not lost as I used is to form the background of the packaging design.

The Website design

The Design brief set for the logo and product packaging naturally had to flow in to the website. The design of the website is more contemporary in comparison to the packaging design. This was a deliberate move not to continue with the Art Deco and hand painted backgrounds on to the website. Being a digital medium the website has to compete visually against the more established brand and show that although the product was traditional the company is not stuck in the past. The design of the website also had to compliment but not distract from the product focus. As the route to market for Bradshaws is very direct and on a local scale, the website has been designed to attract resellers/distributor rather then consumers although the design has been created to accommodate consumers at a later stage.  Distributors have also been given there own dedicated area for on line ordering.
